Jon’s ‘The Movement of Rhythm’ workshops are aimed for dancers wanting to gain a deeper understanding of interacting with rhythm.

The Movement of Rhythm workshops:

Explore the relationship between movement & rhythm.
Rhythm composition as a choreographic tool.
Learn a rhythmical vocabulary & develop a deeper rhythmic understanding for use in movement & choreography.
Explore different approaches to timing & tempo.
Explore & work with rhythms of different traditions.
Explore & work with rhythms of different time cycles.
Interact with an experienced professional percussionist.
Participants must be willing to:
Participate in vocal percussion.
Improvise & memorise short movement sequences.
The workshop will be suitable for all dancers / movement artists, and will be of particular benefit to those who already have a good feel for moving rhythmically.
